Our research
group is interested in how the environment shapes animal phenotypes and
how changes in organism traits, in turn, impact ecological communities
and ecosystems.
Currently, we have two main avenues of
research:
(1)
parasite effects on species interactions: the community- and
ecosystem-level consequences of parasites and pathogens
(2)
ecotoxicology: the effects of a new class
of chemical solvents – room temperature ionic liquids (ILs)
– on standard aquatic test organisms (fish, zooplankton, snails)
and on more realistic aquatic communities.
